Suspected of “rape” of goats and sheep: Man arrested near Marseille

A young man, aged 19, was arrested on late Thursday night-early Friday morning (April 9-10) by BAC after a series of sexual attacks against goats and sheep in Pennes-Mirabeau.

The case had been worrying owners of sheep and goats in the town of Pennes-Mirabeau since the start of 2026. On several occasions over the months of February and March, in particular, they had found some of their goats and sheep in a pitiful state.

These animals showed signs of sexual abuse. Some were found with bloody vulvas and had their legs tied, clearly ruling out the possibility of an unscrupulous billy goat or ram.

Captured by hunting cameras

After several similar episodes, the owners installed camera traps on their land in the hope of clearing up the mystery before discovering to their horror that the cause of this abuse was human. The silhouette of a young man appeared in the images captured by the hunting cameras.

With the aid of this documentation, a BAC team was able to catch a suspect matching the description on Thursday night-Friday morning, April 10, 2026. Arrested and placed into custody, this young man, 19, who is reportedly of Afghan nationality, will be prosecuted for acts of cruelty toward an animal, domesticated, tamed, or held in captivity.

Sources familiar with internal discussions said this dilemma dominated the recent executive council deliberation, exposing deep unease over how the federation should respond to mounting international pressure. At the centre of the crisis is president Karim Ibrahim, whose eligibility remains in dispute despite his election under Malaysia Athletics’ current constitution.

Council members, sources said, received clear legal guidance: removing Karim is not straightforward. He won the presidency under rules that were in force at the time. Any attempt to push him out could trigger a court battle, with potential claims of unlawful removal. That warning has had a chilling effect.

Several members now see the issue not just as a governance problem, but as a legal minefield that could drag the federation into prolonged litigation.

Yet the alternative carries its own risks. World Athletics has made clear that member federations must enforce its integrity decisions. In Karim’s case, that means barring him from office. The global body has already asked Malaysia Athletics to state its position and outline how it will bring its constitution in line with international standards.

Sources said the message from abroad was firm: this is not a procedural matter, but one of governance and credibility. They added the correspondence from World Athletics was first sent in January but only surfaced during Thursday’s council meeting, prompting frustration among some members over the timing.

It is also understood that some council members asked to review the correspondence in detail, but concerns were raised about wider circulation of the documents. That has sharpened divisions within the council. Some members believe the federation must move quickly to align with World Athletics to protect Malaysia’s standing in the sport.

Others remain cautious, pointing to the legal exposure and the need to act within the federation’s own constitutional framework. The result is a leadership caught between competing obligations, with no easy path forward. The debate has also turned on a key legal question: how long does “ineligibility” last?

Karim has consistently maintained that he was not subject to a lifetime ban, a position that aligns with Malaysia Athletics’ current interpretation of its constitution. Malaysia Athletics relies on a constitutional clause that limits suspensions to five years. That provision enabled Karim’s return and election last year.

But World Athletics does not appear to share that interpretation. Its rules require member federations to bar individuals deemed ineligible under its vetting process, without reference to a fixed time limit imposed at national level. This gap has become the fault line in the crisis.

Sources said council members acknowledged that the constitution may need to be amended again — this time to bring it into line with international requirements. But even that step will take time, requiring approval at an extraordinary general meeting and clearance from the sports commissioner. Time, however, is in short supply.

World Athletics has set a deadline of April 17 for Malaysia Athletics to respond with a clear position and a plan. That deadline has added urgency to an already fraught situation. Complicating matters further are concerns over governance and process.

Sources said there was recognition that the handling of the issue must be seen as independent and free from any potential conflicts of interest, given the close personal ties involved at the top of the federation. Beyond the boardroom, the stakes are rising.

Several council members warned that failure to resolve the issue could have wider consequences, including possible sanctions that may affect Malaysia’s participation in international competitions. For now, Malaysia Athletics remains in a holding pattern — weighing legal advice, internal divisions and external pressure.

In an April 1 address to the nation, he said, “We never said regime change. But regime change has occurred because all of their original leaders are dead.” He described Iran’s current leadership as “less radical” and “much more reasonable” than the previous one, claiming the U.S. is negotiating with “a whole different group of people.”

Leaving aside the president’s earlier comments indicating that actual regime change was one of the goals of the operation, the greater issue is the creation of the dangerous illusion that killing certain top leaders has changed the nature of Iran’s radical, terroristic Islamist government.

Yes, powerful strikes on key leaders can and have toppled regimes. But has that happened to the mullahs with Operation Epic Fury? Could it?

Radical Islamic ideology is the fundamental mode and purpose of the current Iranian regime. Ever since it seized power 47 years ago, it has considered the Islamic Revolution to be ongoing. Its constitution states that it exists to “prepare the way for the formation of a single world community,” to fulfill “the ideological mission of jihad in God’s way; that is, extending the sovereignty of God’s law throughout the world” to frame “the foreign policy of the country on the basis of Islamic criteria,” and to provide “the necessary basis for ensuring the continuation of the revolution at home and abroad,” citing Koranic verses throughout.

Besides its regular military, the regime has an extra terrorist military (the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, irgc) for the express purpose of enforcing that revolution within its borders and exporting it far beyond. Along with other Iranian security apparatus, it has supported terrorism abroad and terroristic tyranny at home, helping to kill tens of thousands of Iranian protesters as recently as January by firing machine guns into crowds, raiding homes, and torturing and murdering wounded patients in hospitals.

The reason for all this is simple: with more and more ordinary Australians getting tired of Labor, they need the growing Muslim vote to help them stay in power.

To see just how bad the Albanese government is, consider the fact that in the past several weeks not one but two radical overseas Islamic hate-preachers were granted visitors visas to come here and spew their poison. It was only because some media outlets did a quick web search and discovered how horrific they were with their virulent antisemitism that the Government was forced to cancel their visas.

But it is not just the hatred of Jews that is the problem with such clerics, but their call for a universal caliphate and the establishment of sharia law throughout the West. Those who know nothing about Islam and sharia law will think that is no biggee, but those who do know something about these things will see red flags everywhere.

Australian expert on Islam Rev Dr Mark Durie has been speaking out on this for decades now. Some 15 years ago I quoted him in a piece I wrote on this topic:

Mark Durie notes that Islamic sharia is “based upon Muhammad’s example and teaching. This system of rules defines a total way of life. There can be no Islam without Sharia. Westerners sometimes mistakenly think of Sharia as a medieval penal code, something from the dusty and irrelevant past.

“However, the Sharia is intended to be simply what it says: the pathway for a Muslim to walk upon, an authoritative application of Muhammad’s example in a comprehensive and consistent way, using rigorous principles of reasoning and Islamic case-law. This is much more inclusive in concept than any penal code.”

Thus those who are considered to be “extreme” or “radical” in Islam are in fact being quite faithful to their own religious tradition. A very good example of all this was found a few days ago in the press. An Australian Islamic preacher made some rather blunt remarks about the relationship between sharia and democracy.

According to a report in the Australian, Ibrahim Siddiq-Conlon is adamant that Australian democracy must go, to be replaced by Islamic law. He said this: “My attack is on the Prime Minister of Australia. I hate the parliament in Canberra. I want to go straight for the jugular vein and advise the parliament that they have no right to legislate. They should immediately step down and let the Muslims take over.”

The article says this in part: “An Australian-born convert to Islam, Siddiq-Conlon is the self-anointed leader of a group called Sharia4Australia, which is pushing for the introduction of sharia courts as a first step towards achieving Islamic law.

“‘One day Australia will live under sharia; it’s inevitable,’ he said. ‘If they (Australians) don’t accept it, that’s not our problem. We hope, and our objective is to have a peaceful transition, but when you look at history that has never been the case. There’s always been a fight. It is inevitable that one day there will be a struggle for Islam in Australia’.” Sharia and Democracy

I say all this because of a just-announced win over sharia in the American state of Florida. Governor Ron DeSantis has just signed into law a bill that would keep Florida sharia-free. Here is what he said about this:

Days before Eid, Muslims gathered in London’s Trafalgar Square to pray in public. The Mayor of London, Sir Sadiq Khan, hailed the “power of being Muslim” as he addressed thousands at the “biggest Iftar in the Western world.”

It’s not that Britons have undergone mass conversion to Islam or, for the most part, have a deep interest in religious practices. Indeed, a leading politician sparked debate by condemning London’s mass public prayer gathering, and boos rang out around the stadium when a big screen announced that the match between Leeds and Manchester City would pause at sunset to allow Muslim players to break their fasts.   

Rather, a growing Muslim population has become more confident in asserting its identity, while Britain’s political and cultural elite increasingly insists upon respect for Islam as a show of support for the supposedly progressive values of diversity, multiculturalism, and anti-racism. The result is not just tolerance of Muslims but an extending Islamification of all aspects of British society.

The education system plays an important role in normalizing Islamic religious practices among all children. Thousands of schools have changed their uniform policies to let Muslim girls as young as five wear a hijab in the classroom or to ban all girls from wearing skirts, in compliance with Islam’s modesty rules. 

Halal meat is served in school dinners, often without parents being informed. Government guidance to teachers in areas with large Muslim communities warns that art produced by children, as well as music and dancing lessons, may be considered blasphemous or even “idolatrous” under Sharia law. Other advice to schools introduces double standards: one London council urged teachers not to punish Muslim pupils with after-school detentions during Ramadan so they can return home in time to break their fast.

One reason for these developments is, obviously, a growing Muslim population. According to the most recent national census, carried out in 2021, 3.9 million people, or 6.5 percent of the population, describe themselves as Muslim—up from 2.7 million, or 4.9 percent, in 2011. 

But these statistics don’t capture how recent migrants and second- and third-generation citizens from predominantly Muslim countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan tend to concentrate in certain towns and cities, particularly in the north of England. For example, the 2021 census found that the Asian or British-Asian population of Bradford stood at 32.1 percent, while Birmingham is home to 195,102 Pakistanis, or 17.2 percent of the city’s population. 

A recent election in the Manchester constituency of Gorton and Denton highlighted the extent of ethnic and religious segregation, even within small geographical areas.

The Bondi Beach massacre by Islamic terrorists should have been a wake-up call. Instead, the Albanese government has doubled down on appeasement, and instead of cracking down on Islamic terrorism, the regime instead cracks down on its heroes.

Rather than fighting Islamic terrorists, the Cowardly Albanese regime, led by a coward who cringed when a Muslim mob surrounded and berated him in a mosque, sacrifices its heroes, those brave enough to stand up to the Jihad, and pretends this Quislingism is a virtue.

Twenty-five years for murder? And with the possibility of parole well before then? What is wrong with the Italian justice system? It’s bad enough that he’s not going to be executed. Italy did away with capital punishment in 1947 (in time to save some Fascist necks from the noose; the Germans did the same). But only twenty-five years for first-degree murder? In the U.S., it is ordinarily life without parole. In this case of premeditated slaughter, that sounds about right to me.

Sohaïb Teima, 24, was sentenced by the Aosta Court of Assizes over the killing of Auriane Laisné in April 2024. As reported by Actu, the young woman from the Lyon metropolitan area had been drugged with benzodiazepines before being taken to the remote location and stabbed multiple times.

Her body was found on April 5, 2024, inside an abandoned church above La Salle. According to La Stampa, she suffered fatal stab wounds to the neck and abdomen.

Prosecutors had sought life imprisonment. Public prosecutor Manlio D’Ambrosi told the court that investigators had built a “logical, coherent, precise, and timely reconstruction of the facts,” rejecting defense claims that the case was circumstantial. He said the investigation had produced “serious evidence” and dismissed suggestions that expert conclusions had been influenced.

Teima had been in a relationship with the victim and had already been the subject of multiple complaints for violence. He was under a restraining order prohibiting contact with Laisné, yet the pair had still been seen together shortly before the killing….

Despite the prosecution’s request for a life sentence, the court handed down a 25-year term. Defense lawyer Luca Tommaso Calabrò said the legal team was “only half satisfied,” arguing that life imprisonment would have been disproportionate while maintaining his client’s innocence…..

Women and girls of Europe: though we are cis and you are trans, even at this distance, listen to our advice. Do not, for god’s sake, take up with Muslim men. As UN Watch reports, the United Nations continues elevating Iran, China and other human rights abusers to leading positions in shaping and determining human rights findings and enforcement.

On Wednesday, the UN’s 54-nation Economic and Social Council nominated the Islamic Republic of Iran to the UN’s Committee for Program and Coordination, which meets next month to shape policy on women’s rights, human rights, disarmament, and terrorism prevention. ECOSOC’s nomination is effectively decisive, as the UN General Assembly customarily rubber-stamps such nominations without a vote.

In addition, ECOSOC by acclamation elected China, Cuba, Nicaragua, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan to the influential Committee on NGOs, which oversees the work, accreditation and UN access of thousands of human rights and civil society groups that enjoy consulative status at the world body.

The United States was the only ECOSOC member to object, saying that Iran, Cuba and Nicaragua were “unfit.”

So, here’s the question: If A had been compelled to share its annual revenue of RM10 million with B, which was then an unknown party, and a 10 percent levy by C, how much would A have lost over nine months?

It’s straightforward – nine makes three-quarters as revenue of a calendar year, and the answer is RM4.5 million, leaving A with a meagre RM3 million.

Why would anyone want to enter such deals? To put it in context, if A is a local council in Selangor, B is a third-party parking concessionaire, and C is the state government, it will all fall into place.

COMMENT | Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli said that he was not going to contest the 16th general election on a PKR ticket, but (from reportage) “… winning is not necessarily a major objective for him”.

“Instead, his objective is to ensure the survival of progressive multi-racial politics and continuous political change.” In this case, the former PKR deputy president should eschew the drama that comes with PKR scheming to get him out and quit Madani.

Rafizi finally took his shot against Prime Minister and PKR president Anwar Ibrahim. No more sniping from the sidelines. He has essentially said that Anwar is obsessed with being in power and doesn’t care for the sacrifices others have made to get him in the Putrajaya hot seat.

Mind you, Rafizi just described nearly every politician in this country, but I get his point.
